As a father of two amazing boys, I decided to volunteer at their schools to be closer to them. That was the start of my chess journey and volunteering helped me to understand how to teach children. Because of this, I became a well-known chess instructor, permitting me to teach hundreds of students at several public and private schools within and outside of San Francisco, CA. Since 2000, I brought a depth of teaching experience and knowledge to those who are eager to expand their minds, talents, and skills. Sometimes all it takes to understand a concept is a considerate instructor who knows how to teach at your pace. As a top chess instructor, I’ve provided the tools and guidance needed to help all of my students excel. Chess can be challenging and intimidating for many students. ONE ON ONE LESSONS
I specialize in a variety of strategies, in various levels of difficulty, and know how to reach my students with the right balance of personalized attention, patience, practical training, and positive encouragement. I make learning fun through numerous engaging methods. Working at your own personal pace is one of the many benefits of individualized learning.
SUMMER COURSES
I know how difficult it can be to find a reliable teacher that focuses on what you need. As an experienced and passionate instructor, I created my curriculum for students K-12 in all levels. Believe in an approach that gives students positive, constructive ways to learn. I design my lessons according to my student's needs, with an emphasis on confidence-boosting activities.
